Advanced Training Camp (not offered this summer)

The Advanced Training Camp is designed to provide a collegiate-level training environment for  players who have already mastered the basic skills and want to develop their position-specific skills to a high level.  Each player will sign up by position (setter, middle, outside, libero/defensive specialist) and will train exclusively in that position in the morning session.  The afternoon session will focus on technical and tactical training through 6 on 6 scrimmage drills.

All Skills Camp

This camp is dedicated to the improvement of the FUNdamentals of the game.   Instruction will include individual skills of the pass, dig, set, hit, block and serve. Individual skills will then be incorporated into team offense and defense. Aspiring young athletes wanting to play volleyball at a higher level will benefit from the knowledge and experience of Division I college coaches and players. The camp goal is to provide a positive, success-oriented learning environment in which players learn not only the skills of the game but life-skills that will help them find success in other areas.

Prospect Camp (not currently offered)

Students are trained by UCRiverside coaches and players in workouts and drills that UCR uses on a daily basis to improve its players. Individual instruction in the basic skills and positional skills, i.e., for middle blockers, outside hitters, setters and defensive specialists will assist players preparing for their upcoming season and help prepare them for volleyball after high school. Instruction will occur in the morning, while the afternoon will be reserved for controlled scrimmage drills with coaching.  Prospects sign-up by position.

Team Camp

The Team Camp is designed to give high school teams the opportunity to practice together in a collegiate atmosphere and prepare for the upcoming season.  Sessions will include drills specific to the needs of your team as well as drills focused on the fundamentals of the game.  Students are trained by UC Riverside coaches and players in workouts and drills that UCR uses on a daily basis to improve it's players. The camp is divided into three parts:

1.  Individual skills training:  Emphasis on position-specific skills, for middle blockers, outside hitters, setters and defensive specialists/liberos.

2.  Team Training:  Offensive and defensive system work.

3.  Competition:  Controlled scrimmage drills intregrating all skills.  Each high school coach is requested to indicate two areas of technical concern for each of their players and their preferred offensive and defensive systems so that the coaches can focus instruction in these areas.
